EMPIRE (D) november/december 1997

To call it the birth of a Dragon in progrock is somewhat exaggerated. The debut by Chinawhite is definetely interesting. One cannot depend on good old Saga any more, so others have to fill the gap. Chinawhite prove with ‘A dragon’s Birth’ to be capable to do so. On the alas much to short mini-cd everything is perfect. Strong compositions with catchy chorusses, most of them up-tempo, combined with Don Feltges’ convincing vocals. Added are Saga-like guitar parts and keyboards and a excellent sound quality. Fact is that Saga-fans can look ahead with confidence. Hopefully we can enjoy a full length album in short notice. (martin dambeck)
